The Off-Season

The off-season is the time for teams to try to get better. Whether it’s through practicing or by watching opponents film, there is always something a team could do to make themselves better in the end.

Many players have a routine that they follow that contributes to their big success. One player’s routine consisted of wearing mismatched socks. He felt like that somehow made his team lucky so he didn’t stop doing it. It is really like being jinxed or feeling superstitious.

It’s also a matter of personal opinion. History does indicate that following a pattern prior to each game does something good. I am not sure if that’s true or not but the few players that have publicly announced their routines seem to be a part of a winning organization.

I’m not sure if anyone noticed this or not but every year it seems as if the preseason proves to be the opposite of the regular season. In recent years the teams that had the best preseason records seemed to do nothing in the regular season. On the other hand, the teams that had the worst preseason records seemed to make big noise in the playoffs.

Teams like the Braves don’t have to rely on making the playoffs to see their Atlanta Braves merchandise sell because that is a franchise that people love all over the world.
