Joe Torre’s new managing job

Joe Torre is now the manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers and I think that’s the best team he could manage out of his options. After he was given the managerial job, Torre was seen with his first Los Angeles Dodgers merchandise—a cap. I remember Joe Torre said last month “I do not want to manage a team that’s not going in the direction of a championship.” I don’t think anyone can argue with him on that statement. He knows about the history of the Dodgers franchise. That should not come as a surprise that Joe Torre wants to manage a team that is known for the right reasons. If you look at the Yankees, it was the same way. Before he arrived to be the manager of the Yankees, they had already won more championships than any other franchise. Then he came there and added more world series to their already magnificent dynasty franchise.

I don’t blame Torre. Why would he want to go to a franchise that has more losses than wins in the past ten years? Then again, sometimes a person may want to manage a team that has a losing record for the simple fact that the team can only get better. The odds are in their favor when it comes to surpassing last year’s record. However, Torre made it very clear that he wants to be a part of a winning organization.
